Accepted Formats & Resolutions

To ensure smooth post-production and consistent quality across projects, all videographers must upload footage that meets Blended Sense format and resolution standards. This article outlines the expected video formats, resolution requirements, and general technical guidelines for delivered footage.

Accepted Video File Formats

Footage should be uploaded in one of the following formats:

  • MP4

  • MOV

These formats are widely supported and compatible with post-production workflows.

Avoid proprietary or unsupported file formats unless specifically approved.

Resolution Requirements

Footage should be recorded and delivered at a minimum of:

  • 1920 × 1080 (1080p)

Higher resolutions (such as 4K) are acceptable when appropriate, but 1080p is the baseline standard.

Do not upscale lower-resolution footage to meet this requirement.

Frame Rate

Maintain consistent frame rates throughout the shoot.

Common acceptable frame rates include:

  • 23.98 fps

  • 24 fps

  • 30 fps

Avoid mixing frame rates within the same project unless required by the environment.

Bitrate & Compression

Footage should not be heavily compressed before upload.

Do not:

  • Re-encode footage unnecessarily

  • Upload preview exports instead of original files

  • Reduce quality to speed up upload

Editors require high-quality source files for professional results.

Color Profiles

Standard color profiles are recommended.

If shooting in a flat or log profile:

  • Ensure exposure is properly managed

  • Avoid extreme underexposure

  • Maintain usable dynamic range

Consistency is more important than complexity.

Audio Requirements

If audio is captured:

  • Ensure it is clear and properly recorded

  • Sync separate audio files correctly

  • Upload all associated audio files

Poor audio significantly reduces production quality.

12-Hour Upload Expectation

All footage is expected to be uploaded within 12 hours of the Sweep.

This standard helps maintain post-production timelines and ensures a reliable production workflow.

We understand that larger file sizes or limited internet speeds may occasionally require additional time. If delays are expected, notify Support proactively.
